Valentine's Day

After seeing my sister's idea here I ran out and purchased my own mail boxes and decorated them up with a few stickers. Then each day for 14 days leading up to Vday I filled their mail boxes with a little treat or prize. Okay truth be told I didn't actually fill Addie's with anything because she's too young to get it, but I filled Jack's everyday and he LOVED it! Every morning the first thing he did was run to his mailbox to see if the flag was up. It was fun seeing his excitement each day and hearing him say, "I love my mail box Mama, I love it!"
We decided to stay in this year for Vday since we're going to Phoenix in a week and will get lots of going out time just the two of us. But we still wanted to make it special so we cooked up a delicious surf 'n turf meal. Check out those King crab legs! mmmmm(Yes, I'm wearing a different shirt half way through the meal. I got hot so the sweater had to go. It's a work out cracking those crab legs!)For dessert we had hot chocolate on a stick. You steam up some milk and then swirl these hot chocolate sticks in your mug until it melts. Delicious! We had our official celebration on Sunday, but couldn't let the actual day pass without a little celebration so we met Jeff for lunch at Gandolfo's.
Jack is holding his final prize that came in his mail box...a Buzz Lightyear flashlight. He hasn't put it down since he got it including when he came into my room last night at 3 am and said, "Where's my flashlight, I need my flashlight." I took him back to his room, found the flashlight and back to sleep he went. Turns out the flashlight was a hit. :) Addie is sucking on Jack's Vday Pez dispenser.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I love the pics of the kids - especially that one of Addie grinning with the hearts! The shot with the crab leg poking the corner of your eye is a little freaky - ouch! I love your bright red sweater and you and Jeff both look so good-lookin' - I'm not biased, am I?

You're brave to do crab legs. I'm scared to cook them. Addie looks more and more like her brother all the time.

The mailboxes are a darling idea!!! I love to go all our for the holiday's too!! We have so much in common! I cannot believe how cute that little Addie is getting you two should not be allowed to have any more kids they set the bar of cuteness too high and other can't measure up!! You know how they say ugly people have cute kids and cute people have ugly kids. You two have totally proven that saying WRONG!!!
