I mentioned a few posts ago that I was in the middle of making over my bedroom. Well, it's done...mostly. I have a few more things to do, but I've had a couple of people ask me to post the pics thus far, so I'll point out what's left as I go & update with pics once I get it done.
What's the point of looking at make over pics if you don't see some before right? Here are a few pics of our bedroom
before the redo:

Above is when we first moved in before we got a dresser and when Jack was still small enough to sleep in that co-sleeper.
Below is that same space after we got a dresser.

Below is also right after we moved in when our bathrooms still had icky carpet & we were using the world's smallest television for our nightly entertainment. :)

Okay now onto the redo. Here are a few of the painting process. (Thank you Jocelyn for spending a whole day helping me paint. You made me & Jeff, who didn't have to paint, VERY happy!)
AFTER

I've always wanted to get Jeff a new night stand (something a bit larger in scale) so I've hesitated ever painting it white to match the other furniture, but as you can see 5 years later there it still is. Hmmm, one day. :)

For those of you that read
Jeff's blog below is one of the inconveniences he was whining about. He doesn't like his alarm clock/sound machine on this lower area.

On the wall below I ordered a large black and white canvas of the SLC Temple to go there. It hasn't arrived yet, but will soon (I hope).

Here is a pic of my great grandmother's dresser that was in my bedroom all growing up before...

...and after. I painted it white and added some new glass handles. I actually did this last spring.

Here is a slight upgrade on the TV you saw before although my plan is to one day get a flat screen to mount on that wall between the bathroom and my closet. Then I can finally get rid of that eyesore on top of the dresser. :)

Here are the pics of my parents and in-laws that I mentioned I was putting together. I now need to blow up our engagement photo to a 5x7 to match the other two. I don't have a digital copy of our engagement photo, nor do we own a scanner, so I'm working on it via my parents.

These yarn balls took me WAY longer to make than they should have. I was an idiot and bought VERY small Styrofoam balls to wrap the yarn around so they took FOREVER! Next time I will start with larger balls.

I kept my same lamp sticks just updating the shade to a white drum shade.

I painted the frame below white (used to be maroon and hold our wedding invitation & a photo...it was a gift from someone at our wedding) and cut out prints from a calendar that I love and then matted them on some grey paper.

I took this frame that was a hand-me-down from my Mom and...

...turned it into this with a bit of white spray paint, a print I purchased on Etsy & then matted.

Okay two other things that I want to do are buy some material (that I've already picked out on Fabric.com) and make 2 king size pillow cases to go in place of the plain white cases that sit beneath the grey & white stripped ones. The material is yellow (like the Etsy print) and white stripes. Then I found some material that I won't bother trying to describe (too difficult) that I want to cover the white lampshades with. I think the colors in that material will really tie all the colors of the room together. Also the yellow stripped material on the pillows will help tie in the print above the bed.
So there you have it! That's my bedroom redo. I LOVE my new bedroom! Read
here to see what Jeff thinks of the new room (4th paragraph down).

You are incredible. The funny thing is, your before bedroom would be a HUGE upgrade to what I've got going on ... but now? Holy moly. It's stunning. I love the colors you chose and I think those finishing touches will be awesome. Jeff's thoughts on the matter are truly priceless. :)
I love your taste... but that is nothing new.
Our current bedroom, well it looks a lot like the bedroom we had 5 years ago perhaps you recall it. I have a similar re do in mind, mustard, white and navy with gray walls. If only I had your dedication and energy.
I love the stripes, yarn balls, long pillow, wall color , framed pictures (the bird calendar pics look so cute!), and the lampshades. You're awesome, Mindy! i'm excited to see it when everything is all done, but I can see why it feels like a cozy haven in your sub-zero Denver weather lately. It looks soothing and peaceful.
LOVE it. Especially the colors.
You did an awesome job! I love your color scheme and all the cute things you used to accessorize!
So cute! I love redo's. You could go into the business.
very NICE! luv the changes, very cozy and perfect accents! luv the KEEP CALM pic, ive been obssessed with that phrase for awhile, i found these pillow that on one side say "KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON" and on the opposite side say "NOW PANIC AND FREAK OUT" hahaha i gave them for christmas gifts to my sisters :)
i luv changing up my bedroom, it just feels fresher...it looks fresher, it looks really great!
How fun! I love the commentary on the new stuff.
I love what you did with the room!!! So pretty! I love the colors and your yellow picture! Great job can you come and re-mo my bedroom!?
Looks so great Mindy! I love the color scheme with the pops of yellow. And that wall color is so pretty and works perfectly with the yellow. Love it!!
I totally echo Tricia's sentiments: will you come re-do my Master? Heaven knows it needs it! Seriously, I'm so impressed! Great Job.
Looks gorgeous!
Nice work! Let the guy have his clock.
Wow!! So glad I'm finally here to analyze! Everything looks GREAT!
L.O.V.E.:
-the mustard
-Keep Calm Carry On (memory: me telling you about this phrase and how I almost bought it in Tiffany's blue @ BBB but then thought, "gee it matches nothing" and you hadn't heard of the phrase and I said "it's all over Etsy..." Love that you have it now!)
-the vintage frames everywhere! Score on your big hand me down... where did you get the little ones?
-pinched (is that what we call it? puckered?) crisp, clean white comforter. So fresh!
-long, fun anthro pillow -- love!
-white drum shades. What a small but great difference. Does this mean Jeff was always right about our beaded shades?!?!
-white tie back on the curtains
-dresser makeover -- wow! great handles!
-the yarn balls. you made them? way to go!
-the 3 framed calender pics. Look how much that one calendar/artist has inspired rooms all over your house. That art is so your style and so great! I love it. The detail and colors are beautiful.
I know I'm one to talk, but did you really used to watch that tiny TV FROM YOUR BED?? Could you even see it?!?
Can't wait to see the SLC canvas. Very interested to see what that print is...
I'm excited to see more. I looked at this at first and thought, "it's done" (except your engagement frame... I definitely thought, "why isn't she blowing that up to fit better?" :)) But then you write about the still-to-comes and I think "oh yeah, that will be great!" You're so dang good at this!
